July 5, 2022 (MLN): The Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has decided to continue the subsidy on five essential commodities.
The decision was taken today at the ECC meeting chaired by the Federal Minister of Finance and Income, Mr Miftah Ismail of the Finance Department.
Ministry of Industry and Production has submitted a summary on the continuation of PM’s aid package, 2020, Sasta Atta initiative for KPK and expansion of Utility Stores network in Pakistan.
The ECC decided to continue the subsidy on five essential commodities with a mandate to the Ministry of Industry and Production to elaborate a viable proposal for the subsidy program, taking into account the financial implications.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar, Federal Minister for Energy, Mr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, State Minister for Petroleum Division, Mr. Musadik Masood Malik, Federal Secretaries and Senior Officers attended the meeting.
